Update

It's been a long time. But now I am officially done all of my classes, and all I have left in school is my student teaching - and I could not be more excited! But before I do that, I get the opportuniy to spend three months in Jinja, Uganda, with the beautiful children at Ekisa!

Now for an update on support raising!
I sent out support letters mid-April, and since then have raise right around $2400. I need about $3000, which will cover my flight, housing, meals, vaccinatons, and other in-country expenses, such as transportation, internet, and a Visa. I have received such generous support, both monetary as well as letters and words of encouragement, and I could not be more appreciative and grateful for those in my life who continue to support me in seeking after God and His plan for my life. I continue to be affirmed in the fact that Uganda is where God wants me in the fall!

I know that God is faithful and will continue to provide for both me and this trip, and I am hoping that with extra funds I will be able to bring extra items with me to benefit and support the orphanage. A couple of weeks ago I received an email from their volunteer coordinator with advice and help in planning for my trip. At the end it said included a list of things that Ekisa needs, such as HP deskjet 2050 j510 series ink cartridges, medical tape, boys clothes (size 7 and up), and chewable vitamins, as well as suggestions for what to bring for the kids: cloth diapers, toy cars, building blocks, wooden Brio type trains/cars, books, craft stuff (like paint), construction paper, stamps, punches, glitter, stickers, PVA glue, glue sticks, and wax crayons.

Whereas, I would love to ask for donations for any and all of the items listed above, packing them and shipping them will probably pose difficult. However, I am really hoping that I am able to raise above and beyond the needed costs, and with extra money (or if anyone would like to make donations to put specifically towards these needed items) I want to find out more specifically what they need and then shop/pack accordingly. Ultimately, I want to be able to bring with me a lot more than I come home with:)

Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you everyone who has already supported me, and for those of you who are keeping me in your prayers! You are amazing!
